Kitchen Table Seed House
Katherine and her family moved to Wolfe Island in 2001 and started a Community Supported Agriculture project in 2007. Seed production was part of the project from the start but over the years had become more and more important to the farm enterprise. In 2017, Annie Richard and Frank Misek joined the team and we became Kitchen Table Seed House, producing seed for the organic market.
We strongly believe in ecological farming methods and innovative practices to improve soil health. The farm has hedgerows of native trees and shrubs, buffer strips to slow erosion and a crop rotation plan that includes mixed green cover crops. We are also experimenting with row covers, mulches, raised beds and any other intriguing idea that comes our way.
