SUMMARY:Kerr Farms Soil Health Shop Night
DESCRIPTION:Join local farmers for an informal evening conversation about soil health and practical changes happening on real farms. \n\n\n\nThis is not a presentation or workshop. The goal is to create a farmer-to-farmer discussion space where participants can share experiences\, ask questions\, and talk openly about what’s working in their fields. \n\n\n\nThe evening will begin with a simple question: \n\n\n\n\n“What have you done on your farm that you’re pleased with?” \n\n\n\n\nFrom there\, the conversation will explore topics such as: \n\n\n\n\nSoil health practices\n\n\n\nCover crops\n\n\n\nReduced tillage\n\n\n\nPractical on-farm experimentation\n\n\n\nLessons learned over time\n\n\n\n\nFarmers are encouraged to bring their own questions and experiences to share. \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect\n\n\n\n\nOpen conversation format\n\n\n\nFarmer-led discussion\n\n\n\nLocal experiences and practical insights\n\n\n\nSpace for questions and idea sharing\n\n\n\n\nNo presentations. No experts.Just local farmers talking about what’s working. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Should Attend\n\n\n\nFarmers interested in soil health and practical on-farm experimentation. \n\n\n\nResearchers and others interested in listening and learning are welcome\, but the focus of the evening is conversation among farmers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHosted By\n\n\n\nBob Kerr – Kerr Farms \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Details\n\n\n\nCoffee will be available. \n\n\n\nNo registration required

SUMMARY:2025 Adaptive Nitrogen Trial Results Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Join OSN\, EFAO\, and FCS FaRM for a webinar sharing results from the 2025 Adaptive Nitrogen Trials. \n\n\n\nThe Adaptive Nitrogen Trials are designed to help farmers dial in the most profitable nitrogen rates on their farms. These “plug-and-play” replicated strip trials look at 2 or 3 nitrogen rates in corn following cover crops\, helping generate practical insights that can be applied on-farm. \n\n\n\nDuring the first hour\, participants will hear from Jackie Clark (EFAO)\, Lorraine Vandermyden (OSN)\, and farmer participants about the trial setup\, key findings from 2025\, and what these results may mean for farms across Ontario. \n\n\n\nThe final 30 minutes will focus on program recruitment for 2026. Anyone interested in potentially joining the trial is welcome to stay and learn more about the opportunity. \n\n\n\nWhat you’ll learn \n\n\n\n\nHow the Adaptive Nitrogen Trials are set up\n\n\n\nWhy this trial matters for on-farm profitability and decision-making\n\n\n\nKey results and observations from the 2025 season\n\n\n\nHow the trial may apply across different farm contexts in Ontario\n\n\n\nWhat participation in the 2026 program could look like\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers \n\n\n\n\nJackie Clark\, EFAO\n\n\n\nLorraine Vandermyden\, OSN\n\n\n\nMadeline Rodrigue\, FaRM Agronomy Program Manager\, Eastern Canada\n\n\n\nFarmer participants\n\n\n\n\nAgenda \n\n\n\n1:00 PMIntroduction to presentersOverview of the Adaptive Nitrogen Trials: why the trial exists\, how it works\, and how it is set up \n\n\n\n1:15 PMPresentation of 2025 resultsDiscussion and audience questions \n\n\n\n2:00 PMOptional: Information about the 2026 Adaptive Nitrogen Trials and opportunities to join the program

SUMMARY:Managing Nitrogen with Gerard Grubb
DESCRIPTION:Managing Nitrogen with Gerard Grubb\n\n\n\nJune 18\, 2026 · 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM 585 Bruce County Rd 3\, Walkerton\, ON \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGerard Grubb farms with a low-till approach on a corn-soybean-wheat rotation near Walkerton. On June 18\, he’s opening his farm to walk through what he’s learning about nitrogen management — including results from his 2025 strip trials and what he has planned for 2026. \n\n\n\nWhat’s on the agenda: \n\n\n\n\nAdaptive Nitrogen Trials. OSN\, EFAO\, and FCS have partnered with farmers to run replicated strip trials on working farms. Gerard shares what his 2025 trial showed about nitrogen rate\, yield\, and profitability in corn following a cover crop — and how he’s taking it further in 2026.\n\n\n\nUpside Robotics — in the field. Upside is testing autonomous robots designed to increase the number of nitrogen splits\, potentially improving nitrogen efficiency and cutting labour. Come see them running.\n\n\n\nIn-field discussions and demonstrations (and coffee).\n\n\n\n\nMeet at Gerard’s shop — we’ll carpool to the field together. \n\n\n\nFree to attend. Open to all. \n\n\n\nOrganized by Ontario Soil Network in partnership with EFAO\, FCS\, and Upside Robotics.
