I’ve been farming for 10 years now and am a 7th generation farmer. I farm with my father and 1 full time employee in our 1800 acre cash crop farm. My family also runs a farm market and roughly 50 acres of horticulture crops and a horse boarding barn, that I’m only slightly associated with. My crop rotation is corn, beans (RR soys, IP soys, or dry beans), wheat, cover crop mix on our well drained land and corn, soy on the poor drained land. We are working on increasing our cover crop use to after/with corn and after beans on the non wheat ground. There are roughly 45 horses on the farm that I grow hay for but that’s my only association with them. We have been notilling wheat and beans for about 30 years and corn for about 15. This was to reduce erosion, and labour and later for soil health. We started playing with covers about 10 years ago
