Cash crop farming 3 year rotation with covercrop, min-till for soybeans and Wheat. Corn is a cultivator trip accross the field. We use drones. Soil sampler with automated soil sampler. I farmed for 20 years, growing mostly Corn, Soybeans, Wheat, and Cover Crops in my rotation. But also worked as a crop consultant for 8 years, and in retail now. Started notill/mintill in 1992, Soil sampled based on Yield maps 1996, started with drones 2011 and started to deal with soil samplers 2023. cover crops, keep straw, lower traffic across the field. Rotation, cover crops, keep straw and good residue in the field: windbreaks and reduced tillage. Not all fields are the same and have to be looked at independently. The big thing is minimize compaction.
