Farm Tour: Seeding Red Clover After Wheat
Tuesday, September 1, 2026 9:00 am – 11:30 amDean Orr is opening his fields near King City for a morning on red clover seeded after winter wheat.
We’ll walk the stand and talk through what Dean is seeing — how the clover established, where it sits in his rotation, and what he’d do differently next time. This is a straightforward look at a rotation decision a lot of wheat growers are weighing, from a farmer who has run it.
From the field we move to saving seed to seed. Dean will take us through the cleaning process and the equipment behind it — the step that usually happens out of sight, and the one most people have never watched up close.
The morning wraps with a light lunch and time to talk shop with other growers working through the same questions.
