My husband and I have been farming for 33 years. Our daughter is looking to take over some of the operations. We have been working on regenerative farming for the past 7 years and doing a 4 year crop rotation and small grain trialling. We have worked extensively on PPB projects with Uof Manitoba and EFOA on studying effects of rock based amendments, carbon sequestering and integrated planting techniques. We do not have livestock on our 250 acre farm. Our farm acreage has 4 very different soil types including clay, muck land, blue silt and sandy loam. We use minimal tillage, winter grain cropping, 7 variety green cover cropping mixture, buckwheat and rye for intercropping. We are seeing improvement in organic matter in soil. We have been doing trials on applications of black carbon at planting and this year we are working with company from Alberta to use carbon sequestering at time of planting with emissions from fuel.
