farming 40 years with a son now on board,400 crop acers,main rotation is corn soys wheat with 30 a of hay. Have 12 acers of cereal rye for seed production.Thinking of adding sunflowers and peas to rotation. Custum feed 250 head of beef calves in the winter months. Soys and wheat have been notill 10 years plus, corn striptill for 3 years with some notill corn in 2016. Planted a 12 way cover crop mix after wheat in 2015 and planted corn into this in 2016. Interseeded a cover crop in 5 inch tall corn in 2016 with excellent to poor results. Will be planting beans into green cereal rye for 2017. Will try interseeded corn again.
