I have been home farming for 5 years with my mom and my husband. We have a corn cover crop soybeans wheat cover crop. We do not have any livestock. 100% notill on all of our acres. We run roughly 1600 acres and then some custom work. We started going notill about 10 years ago and also adding cover crop slowly in as we went along. We have learned how to manage the residue from the cover crop slowly. We have started to split apply nitrogen on our corn and broadcast very little which is much better for the environment. We are learning and still learning how to pick varieties for our crops. Lots still to learn. One big learn is continuously trying new things.
