I farm a 300 acre RWA poultry, cut flower, grass fed Highland beef and cash crop Farm with my Father. We grow wholesale and wedding flowers, and because of the diversity of our crops, we rotate corn, wheat, soy, hay, rye, sunflowers, clover, and radish here and there. We try to use our livestock manure for the corn and flower fields, and rotate as much as possible. We have been trialing a whole range of covercrops for over 15 years. Some years more than others. We also drill in cover crops between flower beds for Pollinators and soil improvement. In the fall, we drill in cover crops to act as a pasture source for my cattle to get them through the fall, which we use for cropping in the spring, after the cattle have grazed it down. I love covering the fields with anything to hold down that top soil for our blustery winters
