Southwest Regional Update

Soil Health | October 11, 2019 | Catherine

The Southwest Crew continue to challenge themselves to have conversations and share information in their communities. Their activities have included assisting in organizing a Soil Health and Water Quality workshop with LTVCA in Ridgetown this past August; hosting successful field days in Petrolia and Kingsville in August and September, by partnering with local agriculture businesses, a seed company, a local conservation authority, and our OMAFRA soil specialist; holding informal shop talks in Dresden and Caledonia with neighbours and friends. One group has been so pumped by their shop talks that they hope to continue to meet in coming years! This is what OSN is all about! Mentors also volunteered their time at the Outdoor Farm Show in Woodstock to share their farming and OSN experiences with the crowds. Finally two of our mentors kicked off the #soilroadshow in Kingsville and  Parkhill.

Good things are happening. Let’s keep this ball rolling!
